[Precision Micro Machining Example] Cannula

The work size is a length of 30mm, with a thin outer diameter of about φ0.8mm! This is an example completed with a single automatic lathe, including drilling.

We would like to introduce a case of precision micro-machining that we conducted. The application is for medical use (ophthalmic surgical instruments), and the material is 6-4 titanium for the cannula. The tip is trumpet-shaped with both inner and outer diameters. Since the tip is thicker, it was processed by cutting. "Precision micro-machining" refers to precision processing using CNC automatic lathes, capable of manufacturing fine parts with an outer diameter ranging from φ0.5 to a maximum outer diameter of φ32. These parts are utilized in precision nozzle components and medical device components. Additionally, it is possible to perform fine hole machining of approximately φ0.2 on the parts. The machine is equipped with a back chuck, allowing for coaxial cutting on both ends and ensuring coaxial accuracy.
